QuantumPM can provide customized training in support of its Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solution using the processes and methods used by the Client. The following courses are a part of the standard curriculum for the Microsoft EPM solution and will be customized to reflect the specific needs of the organization.
Course 1:
Project Management using Project Server 2010
This is a 2 day class focused on implementing sound project management planning, scheduling, and tracking principles using Microsoft® Project 2010. This course may be customized to reflect the client configuration and standards; it also introduces project managers to Microsoft ® Project's capabilities, demonstrating how those capabilities can be used to transform project concepts into a project schedule and budget, and demonstrating practical ways to track a schedule using Microsoft ® Project. The class includes learning about the collaboration tools that integrate with Project Web Access 2010.
Course 2:
PMO Administration and Set-up for Project Server 2010
This two-day course provides you with an overview of the Administration and Set Up functionality for Microsoft ® Office Project Server 2010. You will understand the elements of administration needed for Project Server 2010, and what you need to do to set up the business rules for your enterprise environment. You will have hands-on experience in your own database or a QPM training database that provides you with a chance to see the full settings and functionality that Project Server 2010 provides. In addition, each student receives a training guide that describes each topic used in implementing Microsoft ® Office Project Server 2010.
Course 3:
Portfolio Optimization Using Project Server 2010
The first part of this class will step students through building and managing business cases using the organization’s Enterprise Project Templates (EPTs) to ensure that the data required by the organization is entered accurately and consistently for maximum analysis and reporting capabilities. The second part of the class focuses on ensuring a Portfolio Manager understands the capabilities of Project Server 2010 for analyzing and selecting projects through the organization’s portfolio lifecycle
Course 4:
Resource Management Using Project Server 2010
This 1-day class introduces resource managers in your organization to resource management features and processes. The class focuses on how projects are created and updated to reflect resource allocation, and the features a resource manager will use to review and analyze resource allocation, assignments and actual work. The class includes how to update resource pool information, if resource managers perform update functions in your organization. The class also includes learning about the collaboration tools that integrate with Project Web Access 2010. An optional 1/2 day of workshop training may also be added.
Course 5:
Team Member Training for Project Web Access 2010
This 1/2-day course (2-4 hours) provides training on all the features that team members may use in Microsoft® Office Project Web Access 2010. In conjunction with functionality training, this training may include labs to provide each student with hands-on experience. In addition, each student receives a training guide that describes each topic and its implementation in Microsoft® Office Project Web Access 2010.
Course 6:
Executive Training for Project Web Access 2010
This 2 hour training class provides training on general project management practices, Microsoft® Office Project 2010 features, and the functions that an executive might use or need to understand in Project Web Access. This training usually involves some discussion about your organization’s implementation of project management processes and Project Web Access functionality, including reporting in the Project Center and using the Business Intelligence reporting center. Each student receives a job aid for using the executive functions. It is recommended that this training be customized to focus on the main reporting elements your organization has implemented.
Course 7:
Enhanced Reporting in Microsoft Office Project Server 2010
This 4 hour training class provides training on the Business Intelligence (BI) and Portfolio Analysis capabilities within Project Server 2010. Students will learn about the different tools available in the BI Center including (Excel Services, Visio Services, Performance Point Services, SQL Server Reporting Services and PowerPivot.) A high-level overview of the BI Center setup will be covered. Additionally, students will get hands on training using labs.
